I credit AA for helping so many people, however it is not the ONLY way and I find for some populations (abused women for example) sitting in a circle of mostly men, admitting you are powerlessness can do more harm. I believe that your relationship to alcohol is an experience and not title. Sobriety for me, is a beautiful opportunity and not a sad consequence. Thanks for sharing your story and kudos to you for being open to try new things. Everyone’s sober tool kit is as unique as they are, so to each their own. AA is a tool that works for some.
